hi all its been a long time since i am updating my blog.

 

Well this is about my trips to niah caves in miri town ... opps it is miri city now.. What i get back from this trips is full of memories, body full of smells of bird shits or bat shits or some say it is "guano" and muscle cramp. What i have to say in this trips is fun but tiring. I really want to thanks God for the wonderful journey and weather cause it didnt rain and lucky the whole trips is cloudy not too hot too so i may say the journey is funs and there is no birdnest as it is not the season yet so there isnt much birds or bird nest.

 

For those of you which want to go to and see bird nest, you will need to go at JUNE that is what my tour guide said well i hope that is what he is saying cause he speak in malay...

 

We depart from Kolej IGS, BSB, Brunei,  around 6am in the morning.

 

Arrived at Miri Custom around 8am in the morning.

     After a short briefing, we waiting to get on the boat across the river just behind this picture it is a 1-2mins ride.

    

The 2nd batch of students crossing the river.. while we wait for them to arrive.

 

Finally they arrived safely on the other side of the bank... hehehehehe and the adventures is about to begin.

 

 

 

Taken in the museum before we embark our journey to the caves, at least a brief idea what to expect

 

Finally we start to embark on our 1++hours hike or walk to our journey. The trails now is all cement path or plastic walkway if you have notice.

 

 Here we have a break only a few mins on our journey where the tour guide explained on the flora and fauna

well finally we really started walking and looking around for things to take picture of. We actually walk for like 30 mins and we stop and rest while the guide show us a ROCK... well it is a limestone rock it is part of the cave actually we are walking around the caves. We are now actually surrounded with trees and there are rivers flowing beside us.

 

 One of the limestone rocks, around us there are pieces of it everywhere cause by erosion and earth movement.

 

if you really look a the pathway we are standing on it is make of plastic and underneath it is a small river. The tour guide is explaining about the flora and fauna and the limestone rocks and why there is rock everywhere...

 

 Finally we are there at the entrance to the caves and we have a rest here before we go in to the traders cave... Why is it called the trader caves is because during the olden days the native is doing barter trade in this caves selling birdnest to the china visitors....

 

As you can see the background the wooden stilt i think it is about 400 years old, the guide say it is fully make of wood and they dont use any nails or steels cos it will rust and rot away... so the olden day they use wood to make house or any structure... nice har? yeah u can see a pretty girl smiling, she saw me taking picture quickly jump in and pose for it..

 

 Now is my turn to be in the picture, yes that is 100plus i am holding well i need the energy to finish the trips....

 

 This is where the guide tell us about the histories of the traders cave... the smell in this cave is still ok not too smelly

 

 More walking through the cave.. at least it is bright to see right...

 

 We have reach the 2nd part of the traders cave... where i think the guide say fountain of youth so i took some pictures of it...

 

 This is not a cave opening it is a well where the natives drink from...

 

 Close up of the fountain of youth ... well i dont think it is working.. if the next ten years i still look the same then i can say it is true . Who knows got bat shits in it tooo or monkey pee.... hehehehe

 More different part of the cave... we actually spent i think more than 15 to 30mins here.

 

Finally we are exiting this traders cave but one last picture of the cave.

  After a few minutes of walking and waitngs we finally reach the entrance of the niah cave where the bird nest is taken

Here is another lessons we learned about what is the birdnest and how the olden day natives get the birdnest how did they climb up to the ceiling of the caves to get the bird nests... and for those who dont know what a bird nests is the answer is yes it is a bird's nests and is one of chinese delicacy... eating a nest  Just imagine all the shits, pees, dirts and germs.. well we chinese like dirty stuffs whahahahahaha. This is not worse wait till you see use eat frog puke ...

 

 You see the wooden stick hanging down from the ceiling... that is how the natives climb up to collect the precious bird nests we all so love to eat... NOW you know why it cost so much huh??? that isnt the reason why i cost so much... the reason is the greedy businessman that is why i cost so much and they just use this as an excuse for the price they are charging us!!! The native get paid very little....

 

 You might be wondering why it is hanging, cause the native dont want birdnest robber to steal their bird nests and you must be imagine how did they manage to climb up? yeah?? look at the pic before this one you will see the rooftop of the house there is also a hanging stick there there they start climbing from the roof.. and just imagine the real life tomb raider and there are holes on top of the caves...

and how they manage to get it up in the first place??? well you need to visit the caves for the guide to explained that to you ....

 

 Yeah finally we are on our way to enter the caves... sorry there isnt much pictures of the cave cause it is so dark, which most picture look like stars or something which i dont know what is it...

 

 In the middle of the dark caves, well i am walking in darkest cause it didnt check my torch light battery before i came in so i am walking in total darkness

 

 This are some beam of light, the guide say we miss the beam at the noon as we reach there around 1.30pm. We are city people ok.. we enjoy looooong strolls.

 Well this is the place where the modern cave painting took place, where every ichy handed people, stupid people and those who like to destroyed national parks leaves their rubbish and their marks... why do i say they are stupid? cause they are stupid enough to write they name on the cave wall... is just inviting for lawsuits...

  

This stairs can be found near the place i am standing but i dont know where it goes must be one of the hole on top of the cave.

 

Beware of the ninja which might attack you in the caves hehehehehe.. sorry kak wan.

Well as you can see the smell in the cave is really horrible, not as horrible as mulu caves, well just make sure you dont smoke in this cave... it might explode who knows right??

 

 Finally we manage to return to the point where we start.

 There is nothing scary about the caves except this scary looking human who thinks he is a vampire bats???

 

 The house, it is not the olden people house it is built as a rest house for the archaeological site just next to each other.

  

 

 In the end, all of us was so tired and which make us do stupid things ... so cant smile anymore and some smile non-stop must be the caves doing hehehehe...

Finally on my way back walk from the caves to the national park, my leg muscle got cramp up and every step i move is just pain so no more mood in taking anymore pictures...

 

So for those who wanted to go it is recommended that you do some jogging or walking which allows you to walk like 4-5hrs. I think it is sufficient.

 

I will be prepare for my next trips and destination....

 

Regret that we didnt have enough time to go to the painting caves and see the real olden days pictures... Recommended to stay a night at the national parks and wake up early in the morning like 6am and travel to the park and you will have enough time to visit everything....

Lik-Sang.com Out of Business due to Multiple Sony Lawsuits

Hong Kong, October 24th of 2006 - Lik-Sang.com, the popular gaming retailer from Hong Kong, has today announced that it is forced to close down due to multiple legal actions brought against it by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited and Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Sony claimed that Lik-Sang infringed its trade marks, copyright and registered design rights by selling Sony PSP consoles from Asia to European customers, and have recently obtained a judgment in the High Court of London (England) rendering Lik-Sang's sales of PSP consoles unlawful.

As of today, Lik-Sang.com will not be in the position to accept any new orders and will cancel and refund all existing orders that have already been placed. Furthermore, Lik-Sang is working closely with banks and PayPal to refund any store credits held by the company, and the customer support department is taking care of any open transactions such as pending RMAs or repairs and shipping related matters. The staff of Lik-Sang will make sure that nobody will get hurt in the crossfire of this ordeal.

A Sony spokesperson declined to comment directly on the lawsuit against Lik-Sang, but recently went on to tell Gamesindustry.biz that "ultimately, we're trying to protect consumers from being sold hardware that does not conform to strict EU or UK consumer safety standards, due to voltage supply differences et cetera; is not - in PS3's case - backwards compatible with either PS1 or PS2 software; will not play European Blu-Ray movies or DVDs; and will not be covered by warranty".

Lik Sang strongly disagrees with Sony's opinion that their customers need this kind of protection and pointed out that PSP consoles shipped from Lik-Sang contained genuine Sony 100V-240V AC Adapters that carry CE and other safety marks and are compatible world wide. All PSP consoles were in conformity with all EU and UK consumer safety regulations.

Furthermore, Sony have failed to disclose to the London High Court that not only the world wide gaming community in more than 100 countries relied on Lik-Sang for their gaming needs, but also Sony Europe's very own top directors repeatedly got their Sony PSP hard or software imports in nicely packed Lik-Sang parcels with free Lik-Sang Mugs or Lik-Sang Badge Holders, starting just two days after Japan's official release, as early as 14th of December 2004 (more than nine months earlier than the legal action).
